Objection and appeal

Objection and appeal

Do you disagree with a decision of the board? In general it it possible to object or appeal against daily decisions of the board. Examples are decisions concerning membership or sanctions.

Objection
It is possible to internally make a written objection against a board decision at the board. The board is then obliged to reconsider the decision within four weeks following the objection. You need to have a reasonable interest at the decision though. Objection can be made until four weeks after the date of the original date of the board decision. After this period the board can declare the objection inadmissable, if there is no clear case of force majeure. There are no requirements to the form of the written objection, besides that it needs to be delivered by the party of interest. Of course, it is advisable to clearly state what you are objecting to.

Appeal
If you do not agree with the decision of the board concerning the written objection, it is possible to make an internal appeal. At an appeal the case will be presented to the general member meeting to make a final decision within VUUR. Appeal can be made until four weeks after the date of the decision concerning the objection, if the objection was considered admissable. The appeal will then be put on the agenda of the next general member meeting. The chair will not act on behalf of the board but as a technical chair, unless someone else is assigned as such. There are no requirements to the form of the written appeal, besides that it needs to be delivered by the party of interest.

No objection or appeal possible
It is not possible to make an objection or an appeal against general rules, since they do not apply to you specifically. Objection and appeal is also not possible against decisions of the general member meeting and the decision of the Selection Committee to determine the list of candidates.

Making an objection or appeal
Objections and appeals can be send to the board. This is possible by sending an e-mail to bestuur@verenigingvuur.nl or through post to the address under contacts on this website. It is kindly requested to notify the board if an objection or appeal is send through post, since the board will only check the pigeon hole a few times a year.
