University Council

Fraction University Council 2025-2026

The University Council is the central student representative body at Utrecht University, and looks after and promotes student and staff interests. Every year, elections are held to determine which 12 students take place on the council. All students are eligible to vote in these elections. This year, VUUR has again become the biggest party with 6 members elected to be on the council.

The university council promotes student interests in various ways. We advise the Executive Board, have the right to information and on a number of issues have the right of consent (meaning that if we do not consent, the board will not be able to proceed with their policy). We also frequently initiate our own projects. In our history, you can see what VUUR has achieved over the past years.
