[:nl]10.000 uur overwerk, elke dag. Dat is de realiteit op de Universiteit Utrecht. Door bezuinigingen en toenemende studentenaantallen krijgen universitaire medewerkers steeds meer taken op hun bord, zonder dat zij hier extra uren of geld voor krijgen.
Waarom is dit erg?
1. Dit is oneerlijk, dit is loondiefstal
2. Onze docenten gaan hieraan ten onder
3. De kwaliteit van ons onderwijs wordt meetbaar slechter
Wat gaan we doen?
Op 31 augustus, tijdens de opening van het academisch jaar, gaan we actievoeren! Onder de naam #10000uur sprayen we 10.000 vierkantjes door Utrecht, van het Bestuursgebouw naar het Academiegebouw. Eén vierkantje voor elk gewerkt, niet-uitbetaald uur. Met deze actie, die door alle universiteitsbrede medezeggenschapspartijen wordt ondersteund, spreken we ons uit tegen structureel overwerk en betuigen we solidariteit met onze docenten.

Why is this a problem?
1. This is unfair, it’s wage theft
2. It takes a mental and physical toll on teachers
3. It has a negative influence on the quality of our education
What are we doing?
On 31 August, the opening of the Academic Year, we are taking action! United behind #10000uur (10,000 hours), we are spray chalking 10,000 red squares through Utrecht, ending at the Academiegebouw. One square for each unpaid hour. Backed by all university council parties among others, we take a stance against the workload of scientific personnel and express our support for our teachers.
